It’s Saturday.
The day looks promising with activities here and there. Many owanbes rocking the towns today but this right here is the best of all(winks).
As rightly stated above, this is THE OWANBE BOOK PARTY, The TOB party for convenience. Here we’re going to be discussing all about reading, writing and the writing process. Do well to ask your questions and get clarity on your writing journey.
Your writing can never make sense, can never hit the shelf or be a best seller if you don’t write it first!
I will be the compere of the party and I assure you there will be no dull moment whatsoever. I am Timileyin Okunlola, a young Nigerian writer, poet, author and editor.
Writing has been something I’ve always longed to do and glad I’m finally doing. It’s been 3 years since the day I first put pen to paper and dropped my thoughts. During that period, I’ve authored 7 books and also contributed to a best selling romance anthology. So you are definitely in good hands. Just believe in yourself and in your growth.
Although, this is an introductory class, I would however address two points which are:
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A WRITER?
A writer is basically someone who put down his or her thoughts and share with the world with one aim or the other.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BE A WRITER?
Your creative self.
I will conclude on this note:
Your writing can never make sense, can never hit the shelf or be a best seller if you don’t write it first!
Question for the week:
Do you just want to be a writer?
Expecting my answers in the comment section on or before next Friday.
Thanks a lot for your time, I love you and I’m rooting for you. See you at the next party and do remember to invite your kiths, kins, friends and family. I have enough jollof to go round!
Till I come your way again, may the good Lord be with you and yours.
